I was elected to the Maryland General Assembly in 2002 to represent the 6th Legislative District. The district is made up of the Dundalk, Essex, Rosedale, Edgemere and Ft. Howard communities.

I am a second-generation legislator. My father, Mike Weir Sr., served for 28 years in the House of Delegates representing communities from Essex in Baltimore County to Fallston in Harford County.

It was my father’s example of hard work, dedication and commitment to our community that inspired me to pursue careers in public service. The district office he opened on Eastern Avenue in Essex in 1974 is still assisting constituents who have problems with any level of government - county, state or federal. I am proud to continue his tradition of quality constituent service.

I have been in public service most of my life even while running the family masonry business. I am a retired member of the 175th Maryland Air National Guard and a  captain in the Baltimore County Fire Department assigned to the Dundalk station where I began my career over 25 years ago.

I have been active in many organizations in the 6th District and believe that it is an honor to serve you. As your representative in the House of Delegates, my goal is to continue "making a difference" by working for a better quality of life for everyone.
